ABOUT CLEANERSCENE
“Cleanerscene are small enough to care but big enough to deliver.”

HI! I’M NICOLA WARBURTON AND I AM THE OWNER AND FOUNDER OF CLEANERSCENE.
I was born in Crewe in 1977 and completed my secondary education at St Thomas More RC High School. I then studied for four years at South Cheshire College. There I completed a BTEC National and a HND in Travel and Tourism Management.
At the end of my studies, I was unsure as to what I wanted to do. The jobs within the travel sector where I had hoped to have worked didn’t want to recruit college leavers. At the time, they preferred to recruit on a YTS scheme. As a result I found myself working in various environments gaining experience in many areas. These included administration, accounts, reception, customer service, telesales, supervisory management and my last employed job in field sales.

IN 2005 I STARTED LOOKING FOR A CLEANER MYSELF.
I was working full time and spending much of my precious free time completing the household chores.
What I discovered was that there was a lack of local companies in the Crewe and Nantwich area. I didn’t know anybody who might want to come and clean for me. I also needed to know that the people coming into my home were going to be trustworthy, honest and reliable. Letting a stranger into my home when I wasn’t going to be there was a big decision.
I thought a company would be the way forward. However, when I started to do some research, I discovered that there didn’t seem to be any professional, local companies. There were franchises but to me they felt impersonal and above all, too expensive for me.

THE BIRTH OF CLEANERSCENE!
I thought about it long and hard. After some market research and lots of planning, I took the plunge and quit my day job as a sales representative. After that I launched my company, Cleanerscene.
For five years, I built up the business working from home. In addition, I built a team of 6 staff and I worked alongside them daily. We cleaned many houses, offices, narrow boats, holiday lets, end of tenancy properties for landlords and tenants. There isn’t much I haven’t seen or cleaned personally.
In 2011, I stood on Welsh Row in Nantwich one day and noticed that there was a shop to let. I thought it would be a good location for an office for my business. Again I took a chance as an office wasn’t really necessary. I knew it would make me stand out as a professional business. This was a good move and really put Cleanerscene on the map. We have traded from there since that time.
I now have a little boy, Dylan, who was born in October 2016. So having a cleaner now is even more important for me! I am learning to understand the challenges of looking after a young family and balancing working full time. The last thing I want to do when I might have free time is clean the house!!
